Gap Acquires New CEO, Art Peck, Specializing in Omnichannel and Digital

Gap’s current CEO, Glenn Murphy, is stepping down and will be replaced by Art Peck, their current president of Gap’s division for growth and digital sales, who has been with the company since 2005. He will also be overseeing Piperlime, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Athleta and Intermix.

This is very promising news for a huge brand like GAP whose sales have been improving over the years, but not at all where they should be. In his past few years at GAP, Art has overseen such digital marketing projects as developing campaigns posted on Tumblr, TaskRabbit and VSCO, so it will be interesting to see what he does now with his newly appointed position. More and more  companies are seeing how important innovative shopping experiences and omnichannel sales are to their brands and hopefully GAP will be one of the new brands to watch this season.
