Something’s brewing and it smells like omnichannel

At the beginning of last week, tucked away in an exhibition hall the size of two football fields, vendors and retailers gathered to pitch and be pitched at one of biggest and fastest growing retail solutions shows in the world- RBTE 2014!


CloudTags was one of two hundred and fifty exhibitors strutting their stuff and mingling with some the UK and Europe’s top retail executives with one goal in mind…. to change the face of retail as we know it. There was everything you’d expect at retail conference in one of worlds most established and progressive markets; payments theatre, innovation theatre, champagne bar, loyalty zone, big sponsors, big name speakers and the sound and buzz of business with every vendor trying to convince skeptical retailers that their proposition was the next big thing.

Given that we had a stand to man, prospects to speak to, and clients to look after I didn’t have the luxury of listening to any of the all star speakers that RBTE had lined up, but I did get a chance to pace the arena and boil this years exhibition into one word…”omnichannel”. Although this may not have been apparent to all conference attendees, the constant murmur of integration, connectivity, and user experience was an un-doubtable sign of the exciting world of retail consumers are about to experience in the near future.
